Dr. Spataru discontinued her office practice at Diablo Neurosurgical Medical Group on June 30, 2025. We understand this change may be unexpected, and we want to assure you that your continued care and well-being remain our top priority.
Her current practice is only in the hospital neurocritical care units. There is no other clinic / office address for her at this time. If she should transition to another outpatient setting, we will, with her permission, post that address on our website. However at this time she has not indicated she has any plans for a new office.
You may message Dr. Spataru through your John Muir MyChart or leave a voice mail message for her with any questions you may have. Her answering service will accept your call at 925-930-3098. Please do not call this number if you are having a medical emergency. Should you need urgent care, please proceed to the nearest hospital or call 911.

Prescriptions, Referrals, Studies, etc.
Requests for medication prescription renewals, orders for studies, or review of completed studies cannot be processed by this office. Please consult your neurologist or primary care provider for further direction in your care. If we cannot determine you have established a relationship with a new neurologist, any communications or requests for renewals or orders we receive from pharmacies, home health, physical therapists, etc. will be forwarded to your primary care physician to provide them with a physician who is currently responsible for your care.

Transitioning to another provider
Dr. Spataru recommends your care be transitioned to another neurology practice. To address your individual needs, work with your primary care provider for a referral. This will also ensure continued communication between your providers. You may also want to contact your insurance company to determine what providers are in your network. John Muir and other health systems also have online physician services to help you find a provider that suits your needs.
Records
All your records for visits with Dr. Spataru reside in the John Muir Health MyChart system. These records include her notes, referrals, recommended studies, imaging reports, laboratory results and prescribed medications from your visits with Dr. Spataru. These are available to you for free on the John Muir Health System MyChart portal along with all other health information shared with John Muir Health through the Epic electronic medical records network. This office can provide you with a copy of the notes from your visits with Dr. Spataru, however there is a charge associated with production and mailing (as applicable). Imaging studies on CD are not available through this office, and must be obtained through John Muir Health. Please complete and return the authorization below.
